Italian guitarmaker
Filippo Avignonesi
has been making, repairing and restoring
guitars professionally since 1992.
Studied with David Freeman, Mike Jarvis,
Rossco Wright, Tom Ribbecke and
Jose Romanillos.
I make my concert guitars in the Torres/Hauser tradition
with strong influences by Jose Romanillos, Jeffrey Elliot
and Hermann Hauser III.
I aim for great note separation and clarity,
projection for the hall and singing trebles.
I use traditional, quality woods in my instruments
German Spruce or Cedar for soundboards,
Rosewood, curly European Maple, Wenge for backs and sides.
Quality tuners (usually Reischl or Alessi).
Various scale lenghts (the 630mm is a very popular choice among ladies)
also the choice of a traditional or an elevated fretboard
as well as 19 or 20 frets.
